UPDATE: The third suspect wanted in connection with an attempted home invasion robbery in the Town of Horseheads is in custody.Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss reported on his Twitter feed that the sheriff’s office took Drew Stansfield, 19, into custody Thursday evening without incident.Moss didn’t provide any other details on Stansfield’s capture.He was sent to the Chemung County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. Another suspect,Daiquan J. Bythwood, 18, of Elmira, is in Robert Packer Hospital after being shot by the homeowner.The other suspect,17 year old Zhamere F. Bythwood, 18, of Elmira,became involved in a physical altercation with one of the occupants, according to Sheriff Christopher Moss.During the struggle, thesecond occupant shot Bythwood with a shotgun, Moss said.The suspects fled the residence in a dark colored sedan. Bythwood was transported by his accomplices to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Moss said.Bythwood was transferred to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he underwent emergency surgery. Charriez of Elmira, into custody Thursday and turned him over to the sheriff’s office.Charriez was charged with first degree robbery, a felony. He was arraigned in Town of Horseheads Court and committed to the Chemung County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 property bond. Stansfield, 19, of Horseheads.Stansfield is described as a while male with thin build, about 5 foot 10 inches tall, with short blond hair. He was last seen wearing dark colored sweatpants and a dark long sleeved shirt.The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about Stanfield’s whereabouts to call the criminal investigation division at 607 737 2933, or to dial 911.Residents are warned not to approach Stansfield if they see him.It will be up to the District Attorney’s Office to determine if the shooting was justified, according to Undersheriff William Schrom, but he said the sheriff’s office is not filing any charges against the homeowner.The occupants of the residence have not been identified at this time, but Moss said they will be named at a later date.The sheriff’s office was assisted by New York State Police, the Elmira and Horseheads police departments, and the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office.
